While i would never go so far as the last comment, i think that some of their newer songs are among the very best they have ever done. Style of music is not important, its whether it rings true, and its sounds authentic. For my money Marie and Let Me Come Home represent two of the best songs they have done. I do appreciate your perspective, and i will admit they are a band in transition and trying to find their feet again, but is it the Rapping that bothers you? Simone was rapping before, and was that OK? Keep up the writing, you know i am a fan, and i do read your blog, i hope you come back to see things differently. Thanks for your insights, and the videos. Your early videos are important documents to the bands history and we all should be forever grateful to you, Love to hear a review of the Duke and the King!

thanks

wow. the only thing more cliche than the felice boys going electric is you booing them for it! besides i liked your earlier blogs much better than the new ones. your new shit sux. evolve the way i want you to.

like a band or don't. this hatchet job is a cry out for people to identify with you.

if you think that the band was "trying" to have fun at rosie the other night and still couldn't, then i think we were at different shows. you saw the show thru your own sad eyes. iantown is a record that is only ian felice with a guitar. how would you suggest 5 people play those songs? for ian to sing frankie's gun 175 times a year and make it sound as fresh each time as he does is amazing. i'd like to see you reach half as many people in your lifetime. what songs have you written 5 years ago that i can say are better than the ones you played last night??

you don't like the new records, cool. don't listen to them.

you knew what the show was going to be like, but you went there anyway intending to have a poo poo time because your old favorite band has changed and you haven't. now they sell out shows across the country and thank god for the headlines otherwise they'd still be at the fucking stewart house! which is a shitty place to play btw (not that you would know anything about it). so sad. i have been to many shows since stewart house and the arizona and banjo jim's and the busking on the subway, and the only difference between then and now is that the boys have way more command over their craft and they are way more comfortable on stage. from what i understand, the reason they are so wild on stage is because when you learn to play on the subway you have to ENTERTAIN!! if you sit and play a lullibuy no one will pay attention. i'm pretty sure they've always been labeled "barn burner" and to do that, you gotta burn down the barn darlin. of course, yes,..they involve more weird rock now but just as much roots as always. oh well, go like avett bros......
